1. Know your voter IDIndians who are registered voters have a voter ID number that begins with their state's code,
followed by a string of digits. To find your voter ID,
you need to enter your details on www.eci.gov.in/voter-id .
Your voter ID is also known as EPIC (Electoral Photo Identity Card).
On its last line, it will show you your Voter ID Number
which is compulsory for voting. You can use either
12 digit Aadhaar card or Voter ID card as a valid
identity proof at polling booths.
2. Know where you need to go and what time
Whether you’re a first-time voter or are an old pro, make sure you know where your polling place is.
If you’re going with a family member or friend,
double-check that they know too. Knowing how
and when to vote is only half of the voting—getting
there and casting your ballot is what it’s all about!
3.How to register yourself as a voter in India
You can register yourself as a voter by visiting
your respective Electoral Registration Officer’s
office, either online or in person. The documents
